Rob Sell

Rob SellHaving been brought up surrounded by jazz music by his father Colin Sell (lifelong musical coordinator for popular Radio 4 comedy series I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue and long-time collaborator of the late Humphrey Lyttleton), Rob Sell started to learn the saxophone aged just10 years old. He has since developed a mature and tasteful sound capable of seducing any audience.

Rob’s limitless repertoire of jazz standards and the American songbook mean that he is high demand across both the jazz and session scenes in Great Britain and he has played at a range of venues including the Alexandra Palace, the Jazz Café and Hackney Empire.  Rob has played with prestigious big bands such as the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and Superjazz alongside leading British jazz musicians.  He also plays flute and keyboards.
